(a) Sounds - A Sound hide has no
cuts in the Prime but may have up to three cuts in the Offal. |
(b) Cuts - A Cut has up to three
Cuts in the Prime and/or over three Cuts in the Offal. A hide containing more than three
Cuts in the Prime is down graded. |
A Cut is not classified as such unless
a hole is penetrating through the skin. Flay marks which do not penetrate are not
classfied as Cuts. |
(c) Faulties - Faulty hides
include those with hairslip, poor cure and/or gross defects such as warts, excessive
brands, large or multiple horn marks or excessive holes or misshapen distorted or
amputated patterns. |
